One of the biggest strengths of Photoshop has always been Layers. Layers were introduced to Photoshop early on in version 3.0 back in 1994 and totally revolutionized what Photoshop can do. Being able to layer parts of images over each other gives you endless creative control over what you can create.

One of the limits of using Lightroom for more creative editing has been the lack of layers in Lightroom. OnOne Software worked with Photoshop Guru Scott Kelby to create a brand new product called Perfect Layers. WIth Perfect Layers you are able to add layers to Lightroom and blend images similar to how you can in Photoshop.

Some of the highlights of this Lightroom plug-in:

  • Combine multiple images into a layered Photoshop-compatible file
  • Adjust layer size, position, blending mode and opacity
  • Use the built-in layer masks and masking tools to blend multiple layers together
  • Layered files are easily opened in Photoshop if needed
  • Super fast launch and file-opening speed
  • perfect layers lightroom

The great thing is that while the finish up the software the current version is available as a public preview so you can download the current version for free. Just head on over to their website to download it: Perfect Layers Lightroom Plug-In
