Photographers have been waiting for a long time for Adobe to release a Lightroom app for mobile and Adobe finally made it happen today. Lightroom for the iPad is live and can be used although with a few caveats.
In order to use the iPad app you have to be a current user of Lightroom 5 with the latest update and be a current member of one of the four Creative Cloud programs:
Photoshop Photography Program
Creative Cloud complete plan
Creative Cloud Student and Teacher Edition
Creative Cloud for teams complete plan
The new Lightroom iPad app will let you sync certain collections in the desktop version of Lightroom to your iPad so you can edit the images right from your tablet. They will be releasing an iPhone version as well in the near future and said that they have plans for Andriod as well.
The new Lightroom mobile app brings powerful Lightroom tools to the iPad, delivering photography essentials – such as non-destructive processing of files – and utilizing new Smart Preview technologies to free professional-class photo editing from the confines of the desktop. Lightroom mobile is built on a powerful synchronization architecture, designed specifically for photos, and provides the most efficient way to manage and edit images across desktops, mobile devices and the Web.
I’ll be doing a full review of the app very soon so check back later for more info! Also would love to know your thoughts, leave a comment below and lets chat.
