Canon released the EOS M3 camera in the spring but it was only available in Asia and Europe. The very first EOS M camera a few years ago didn’t do that well in the US and Canon decided to not even release the M2 in the US at all. But with the M3 it has been getting good reviews in Europe and Asia so Canon is now opening it up to the US market. I do have to admit I was very interested in using this as a portable camera when it was released and i’m happy to now be able to get my hands on one
The EOS M3 will cost $680 for the body and we are looking at a October release. It’s designed for Canon’s EF-M interchangeable lenses, but can also use EF and EF-S glass with an optional adaptor Here are some of the specs:
24.2-megapixel APS-C (22.3 x 14.9 mm) CMOS sensor
49-point Hybrid CMOS AF III autofocus
DIGIC 6 image processor
Full HD 1080p video recording (30FPS)
3-inch tilting touchscreen
Front and rear control dials
Built-in Wi-Fi and NFC
