Part of Lightroom 4’s update was some changes to the DNG file format. If you aren’t aware of DNG files and what they are it stands for “Digital Negative” and is a file format that was created by Adobe but also something that they created to be open so people can freely license the technology. It’s a lossless raw file and was created so that we could have a standard to our raw files instead of using only the RAW file formats that our camera manufactures have.
