Vintage has been in for awhile. From clothing to advertising and even in entertainment vintage is in. It’s also big with photography and in demand for everything from weddings and portraits to commercial work. One part of the vintage look and feel that has been pretty popular that I do admit I love is the resurgence of holga and lomo photography. Holga and lomo cameras are being sold everywhere I look and for those that don’t have any interest in breaking out some film from the fridge there are many ways of creating images in Photoshop or Lightroom that look like they were taken with a holga or lomo camera. Holga photography I have always loved, the softness of the image and light leaks streaking across the frame can make for such a beautiful image. Its one of those things that makes me remember the best photos aren’t taken because the photographer used the best camera out there with the most megapixels but the photographer with the best vision. Vision is really everything when it comes to art and it’s amazing what you can create with a $30 camera.
Today I want to showcase some great holga images to inspire us all to grab our Holgas and get out and shoot. And if you don’t have a holga camera but want to do some Photoshop work to get these results, check out our recent post “Digital Holga Photography – Creating holga images in photoshop”
