How to use Midjourney: A step-by-step guide
Midjourney is a powerful AI image generation tool that allows users to create stunning and surreal images from text prompts. It is still under development, but it has already produced some incredible results.
To use Midjourney, you will need to have a Discord account and be invited to the Midjourney Discord server. Once you are invited, you can start generating images by typing /imagine in the chat with the Midjourney Bot.
Step 1: Create a Discord account and join the Midjourney Discord server
- Go to Discord: https://discord.com/ and create an account.
- Go to Midjourney Discord server: https://discord.com/invite/midjourney and click the “Join Server” button.
- You will need to verify your email address before you can join the server.
- Once you are in the server, you will need to type /subscribe in the #newbies channel to subscribe to a Midjourney plan.
- Choose a plan that suits your needs. Free plans are available.
Step 2: Generate an image
- Type /imagine in the chat with the Midjourney Bot.
- Enter a text prompt describing the image you want to generate. Be very descriptive. If you a are trying to replicate a look of a certain type of film then mention that (in the style of Kodak TMax 400 for example)
- You can also add images to your prompt by dragging and dropping them into the chat or by pasting their URLs.
- Press Enter to generate the image.
Step 3: Edit and upscale your image
Once the image has been generated, there will be 4. images to choose from or edit. These are smaller quality images that show in a 2×2 grid. Choose the ones you would like to create as a full size image and upscale then. Click on U1, U2, U3, or U4, depending on which image you want to upscale
If an image is close to what you were thinking but not right you can have the AI create a new variation of it. Press V1, V2, V3, or V4, depending on which image you want the bot to use.
Step 4: Download your image
To download your image, right-click on it and select “Download”.
