Yep, you read the title right. For our latest competition I want to see your best iPhone (or any mobile) photo. And before you go clicking away thinking “isn’t this a website on the art of photography” let me explain the though behind this a bit. Awhile back commercial photographer Chase Jarvis released a book/iPhone app/community all around the theme “The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You”. This really got me thinking about that phrase and how true it can be. Sometimes the best camera to use for a shoot is whatever you have right there at that time. Moments are fleeting and unique, you don’t have the ability to every recreate a moment and get the same exact results. Most of us don’t lug around our expensive dSLR camerasrh_iphone_upright_2 everywhere we go but inspiration can happen anywhere. In the grocery store, at a restaurant you never know where inspiration can strike. Since most cell phones now have decent cameras in them you can now document your world and capture moments with your cell phone and get a decent image. Also some phone like the iPhone have a ton of pretty unique and cool apps that you can use to process your images. I love to use the Pano and Tilt Shift app on my iPhone. So this week I want to have a photo contest that I think will be a whole lot of fun. Grab your cell phone and capture a unique, artistic moment with it. Try and get creative with lighting or use an app to create a unique effect. Once you have your best shot head over to our Facebook page,and add your photo to our wall. After the contest is done we will post all of the images in a gallery here so you can easily view everyone’s work. The most creative photo will be picked on Friday and will win a $100 gift card for Black River Imaging.
