The photo of the week this week is from a reader. In the past I picked a recent shot of mine to show and use as a tutorial on how I got the shot or a little bit about the lighting and technical aspect. But we really have some talented readers (just check out our Photographer’s Spotlight category for some great inspiration) so I am going to start including some of your amazing work as our photo of the week. Look out for tweets from time to time asking for some of your recent images to use as our photo of the week. Or if you have something that just has to be shared, tweet me a link anytime, I can’t promise i’ll feature your photo but will take a look at it.
This weeks photo of the week comes from Andy & Angie Wood a husband and wife team from Colorado. You have to take a look at their website, really breathtaking work. And some of the lighting on their images is just plain awesome!

Some info about the shot:
This shot was taken in Cancun, Mexico with our bride after the wedding ceremony. They held their ceremony on the beach at sunset so we took the opportunity afterwards to photograph in the dark on the beach. The waves were crashing and the wind was blowing so I was trying to capture a sense of motion with the bride running along sand. I wanted the lighting to be dramatic to bring out all the motion, so I used off camera flash to rim light the beauty of the bride and her dress.
Tech Details:
Camera: 5D Mark II
Lens: 24- 70 mm
Focal: 57mm
F 2.8
ISO: 640
Flash to the front right of the bride was a 580EX in ETTL with Radio Poppers
Thanks again Andy & Angie for sharing your great image!
