Today’s post is probably going to be my quickest Lightroom tip ever. It might be something that many of you know but I’m a big believer in using every single time saving tip we can in Lightroom so always want to make sure everyone out there is being efficient 🙂 Lightroom is one of those programs that we spend hours in going over hundreds if not thousands of images and a few seconds of time savings here and there add up.

I am sure that everyone uses the Sync feature in Lightroom all of the time. For me it’s probably the most used feature in Lightroom. I look at all of the images in similar lighting during a shoot and get the very first image dialed in perfect then click on the rest in the group and click on Sync to match the changes from the first photo to all of the rest. Then i’ll go through one by one to do any refinements but usually they are 90% of the way there now.

But what happens if you want to apply the changes that you did on an image to another image that isn’t in the same folder directory?
Drumroll please…. Command C (or Edit –> Copy) and Command V (or Edit –> Paste). Yep our good friends copy and paste work in Lightroom just like in most apps. When you click on copy it will let you choose exactly what settings you are copying. Then paste these settings into any other image. Super quick and easy. Also this will work only when in the develop module.

Also if it’s a look that you are going to use over and over with other shoots you might want to create your own preset out of the settings. To see how to create a custom preset check out this article: How to create Lightroom Presets
