Photography is so much more than simply capturing the right image. It’s an artform just like any other medium. With drawing, painting and other art mediums the artists pay so much detail to the color and texture and how those impact the art piece. Sometimes we can forget as photographers that shooting the image is only part of the artistic process. We should always use every tool that we have at our disposal to create a narrative in our work and with the tools we have today in Photoshop and Lightroom there are so many creative possibilities we have to use for our art.
This video is a great example of some simple techniques to use in Photoshop to enhance our images and let them create more of the feeling that we experienced while photographing the scene.
