There is a saying that what gets measured, gets improved. So today I want to chat about what are you measuring? If your not paying attention to your marketing efforts that effect your website traffic, leads, and referrals you won’t improve and won’t know what is working and whats not. The photography market for weddings and portraits is extremely competitive and in order to succeed you have to pay careful attention to your marketing efforts and constantly refine them. Since most of us are small businesses with under 5 people (and most are just one person) how you spend your time is so crucial. We need to make sure that we are spending the time we have on our marketing effectively and focusing our time on what has given the best results in the past. Just want to get everyone thinking today and get a discussion going, in the next few weeks we will be posting some specifics on what we track, how to track certain things and some good tips on how to keep an eye on your marketing efforts.
As a photographer in business what are some key things you should be tracking and measuring to really get a feel for what is working with your business?
There are tons of things we should be tracking on a weekly and monthly basis to make sure we are spending our valuable time doing things that are effective. We will talk about all of these in details coming soon, keep checking back or sign up for our email newsletters at the top right of the site.
What are your thoughts: what are you measuring, how are you measuring it, and what do you do with the information? Tell us in the comments!
