Part of yesterdays announcement about Creative Suite 6 coming in the next 30 days was that their entire CS6 software will also be available as part of the creative cloud. So what exactly is the creative cloud? It gives you access to all of Adobes creative suite products, plus some additional products as well as online storage for a monthly price. The standard pricing is $49.99/month on a 1 year agreement, if you want to go month to month that increases to $74.99. It may sound expensive just to have access to use an app and not own it but if you are using all of the various apps and were to buy the master collection outright that will cost you a nice $2500.
Here is a view of all the apps you get with the creative cloud:
Along with the applications you do get 20GB of storage in the cloud. With the cloud storage you can sync your files between the Adobe Touch Apps on your tablet and your desktop computer, and between two of your desktop computers. You also have the ability to share these files with your clients and can access the files through a web browser if needed. With sharing in the cloud you can set permissions also so if you were working collaboratively with someone you can give them access to certain files and allow them to edit the files, or only give people read only access.
A few things to take note of:
If you are on CS3 this works out to be a great deal vs. buying the software. Once it’s available i’ll be testing it out so make sure to check back soon for more info.
