Did you know that you can actually edit your image from Lightroom right in the histogram? The Histogram has 4 sections of it to represent the Blacks, Fill Light, Exposure and Recovery. These sections are directly tied to the same adjustments in the basic panel when you are in the develop module. The black are at the very left of the histogram, fill light to the right, the exposure takes most of the center and the recovery section is the very right. You can easily scroll over with your mouse to see what block each one of these is grouped into on your histogram. To edit just roll your mouse over the section in the histogram and you will see the cursor change to a line with an arrow on the right and left. Now just click and drag your mouse to the left or right to adjust the slider.
Another quick histogram tip, if you want to see where there is no detail in the shadow or highlights of an image click on the triangle at the top corners of the histogram. This will show you the clipped area of the image so you know where there currently isn’t detail and can adjust if needed. Clipped black areas in the photo become blue, and clipped white areas become red.
